The Montreal Olympic Cauldron ring
White gold and a 1ct round brilliant cut diamond. I was pretty much given an open brief, it had to be a show stopper and the client liked my chunky, heavier designs. I've used this base shape a few times and with the setting i was trying to make the stone look suspended a bit like an olympic cauldron...it actually looks more like the moscow olympic cauldron but for some reason I had the Canadian Olympics in my head. I think it was the theme song from Emerson Lake and Palmer that has stuck in my head from that time. I still love that track.
